Bio
I grew up in Arizona surrounded by Latino culture. I went to the University of Arizona and received a degree in History and a degree in Spanish. Upon graduation, I was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force and left for training in San Antonio, Tx to become an aviator. I moved to Omaha, NE and worked as a Navigator on the RC-135 for 6 years. During this time I also pursued a masters degree in Security Management and was an assistant coach for a soccer team in the local area. We were also blessed with our two older children while I was in the military.
My husband got a job that moved us to northeastern Washington state. I was a stay at home mom and decided to pursue a masters in secondary education with an emphasis in mathematics. During this time we were blessed with our third child. I taught Spanish and mathematics at the local high school where we lived for two years. My husbands job moved us to Colebrook in 2017. In 2018, I began working in Canaan as a middle school and high school math teacher. When the foreign language position opened at Colebrook I jumped on the opportunity to work in the same school that my children attend. I also am thrilled to be the assistant coach for the varsity girls soccer team this year.
I am very excited to be working here at CAES and I look forward to working with each of your students to learn about different Latino countries and a language that I love very much. I am also excited to teach a college level math class that provides the applicability of high school math and a comprehensive review of maths learned throughout high school years.
