Words of the Week ('Amazing Words'):
We have adopted a wonderful new comprehensive reading program in grades K-2 called Reading Street. Every unit, we have a new list of "amazing words." Please help reinforce our vocabulary with your children whenever possible! :):
*To be announced!*
Weekly Journal:
Every week, our class "pet" Whiskers visits a new class peer. That student will write about his/her adventures with Whiskers throughout the week, and record their photos, drawings, and journal entry in the log to share each Monday after the week visit! Happy visiting/writing!

Here is a photo of the form for the homework expectations. Homework will begin the week of September 12th. As outlined, homework involves a two sided, mixed practice worksheet page to be completed by Thursday of each school week. (One box per night/more if you choose to complete the work sooner, of course!). Also, included is a form to record the 20 minutes of reading/being read to that is now a school-wide-expectation.

Other News:
Our class will be using an educational app called "Dojo" to help reinforce positive behavior in the classroom. Dojo allows students to individually receive instant feedback through the use of an iPad, on their behavior, which is easy to track and reflect on. The app also allows me to communicate directly with you, as a parent. To learn more about this app, please click here:https://www.classdojo.com/#LearnMore
