Mrs. Moren - Grade 3

Week of  October 21-25
Welcome to Third Grade!!!!
I am looking forward to a great year and I hope your child learns many new things! 
These are the topics I plan to cover this week:

 Spelling - We will have words with diphthongs ( ou,ow,oi,oy)
 Reading -   We will be reading  the story My Rows and Piles of Coins by Tololwa Mollel. We will be working with suffixes and prefixes.

Social Studies -   We will be learning about the First Amendment in the Constitution. We may take A Colebrook History Walk on Thursday. We will read and discuss a Scholastic News  story "This Dolphin is a Spy" .
Science -  We will start our unit on forests. We will learn about rain in the forest. We will take a science walk on Weds. Please bring boots and warm clothing.

 Math -    .  We will continue our first chapter in our math books on multiplication. We will continue working with factors 2, 5, 9 and 3.

Language -   We will learn about compound sentences. We will learn cursive letters h,f, and k. We will be sharing our book reports this week. On Monday we will start writing fall stories for our bulletin board.

Public Library trips will occur on Tuesday afternoon the second week of the month.
